- I am a self employed business owner who has been in business for 13 years with a cleaning service in the Atlanta, Georgia area. I am getting ready to start a new foundation in memory of my father, The Calvin Stennis Foundation, which will help the homeless and help feed needy families, along with provide spiritual materials and pray for those in need.
God has truly blessed me throughout my life, from being raped by a police officer at 15, running in and out of trouble for 7 years, and going through trials and tribulations in previous marriages. I am so glad that my battle belonged to the Lord; he alone was able to bring me through.
I must give credit to my ex-husband, Darrell Chapper of Florida for encouraging me and believing in me that I could be the best, I could be the woman of God that he destined me to be. It was his strength that I needed to finally get to the place in life that God planned for me.
I will forever be grateful to him for all he gave to me.I especially want to thank my mother, Katie Stennis of Meridian, Mississippi. No matter what life threw at me, she was always there, she is still there. All of the bad things that I did, MAMA is still there, and I could not have asked for a better mother. I was blessed with two mother-in-laws, Ruth Jackson of Albany, GA, and Nellie Jones of Lakeland, FL who I will never forget; they became my mothers and love me unconditionally.
From rape, from an abusive marriage, from long days in jail, I can still stand and proudly say "Never Would Have Made it Without God". I owe my life to God and as he is blessing me with all these businesses, I feel it is my pleasure to give back to others.
May God bless my family, my son Jarvis and fiance Quantessa, my adopted son Marcus Hodges, my step kids, Shamay, Darrell Jr., Rikiji and Cinnamon Chapper and Jenise Jackson.

Thanks for sharing your testimony. It has been a blessing to know that God kept you and blessed throughout your trials. I too have gone through the fire but with God's love and grace I am still here to inspire, motivate, and empower other women that they too can start all over again and live a life of purpose.
